On the 20th January 1984 the first Biewer Terrier male named “Scheefloeckchen von Friedheck” was born in Germany to “Darling of Friedheck” and “FruFru of Friedheck” two traditional Yorkshire Terriers owned by Getrud and Werner Biewer. This unusual puppy caused his breeders, to wonder whether their Yorkies carried a recessive piebald gene, which apparently they did. Through selective breeding the Biewers bred for the piebald gene and produced blue, white and gold Yorkshire Terriers.
